Insurance can be confusing. Please read the following, and ask our staff if you have questions. Some insurance companies cover routine exams, medical exams, or both. Depending on what your complaints are and what is detected during the examination dictates which insurance must be billed.
Routine vision insurance is for wellness visits when no medical eye problem or complaint is present. Medical insurance is used for the evaluation and treatment of medical problems. Some examples of this include diabetic eye exams, dry eye, headaches, allergies, floaters, retinal detachment, and the treatment of eye injury or disease.
